23. Animatricks International Animation Festivalin palkinnot jaettiin lauantaina 20.5. Kino K13:sta palkintojenjakotilaisuudessa. Tuomarit kiittelivät näytöskokonaisuuksien monipuolisuutta ja festivaaleilla nähtyjen animaatioiden korkeaa tasoa.

Festivaalin uuden Nordic & Baltic -sarjan palkinto meni ruotsalaisohjaajien Lars Henrik Anderssonin & Lisa Rydbergin animaatiolle A Long Protracted Scene of an Accident (2021).

Aikataulu muutoksista johtuen tarjoamme ylimääräisen näytöksen Kansainvälinen Kilpailu 1 -näytöksestä.

Ylimääräinen näytös lauantaina 20.5. klo 16.00 // Kino K13 // Osta lippusi tästä.

Festivaalin kilpasarjoja tarkalla mutta oikeudenmukaisella silmällä arvioi tänäkin vuonna arvovaltainen tuomaristo, joka koostuu alan ammattilaisista ja tulevista tekijöistä.

Junior-kilpasarjan tuomarina toimii saksalainen animaatio-ohjaaja Veronica Solomon. Viime vuonna tamperelaistunut Solomon on tehnyt lukuisia lyhtyanimaatioita ja erityisesti lapsille suunnatut animaatiot sekä stop-motion animaatiot ovat lähellä hänen sydäntään.

Belgialaisohjaaja Soetkin Verstegen luo katsauksen animaatioihinsa, omiin työskentelymetodeihinsa ja inspiraationlähteisiinsä. Verstegenin kauniin vangitsevat animaatiot ja niissä käytetyt harkitut tekniikat ovat hurmanneet yleisöä lukuisilla festivaaleilla ympäri  maailman. Masterclassin aikana nähdään myös otteita Verstegenin uusimmasta lyhytanimaatiosta, Beautiful Figures (2023).

Animatricksilla on ilo saada vuoden 2020 festivaaleilla Freeze Frame animaatiollaan Parhaan Kotimaisen Lyhytanimaation palkinnon voittaneen belgialaisohjaaja Soetkin Verstegenin jälleen vieraaksi Helsinkiin. Tällä kertaa Verstegen pitää festivaaleilla Masterclass-luennon, jossa hän kertoo omista töistään, työskentelymetodeistaan ja inspiraatiostaan.
